Empowering Women for Financial Success

This 6-hour education series workshop teaches women in personal crisis how they could be empowered for financial success by putting support systems in place to build financial stability. Lessons emphasize the development of skills in goal setting, money management, credit maintenance, opening and maintaining a checking account, and building a support system. Individuals who lack fundamental business management and financial life skills could gain significant benefits. This introductory financial literacy course helps students create or enhance existing skills sets. A secondary purpose is to help prepare participants to better address financial challenges and make sound financial decisions.

Financial Readiness for Young Adults

This education series workshop teaches young adults how to take charge of their personal finances by putting support systems in place to build financial stability. Lessons emphasize the development of skills in goal setting, money management, credit maintenance, avoiding identity theft, the benefits of obtaining additional post-secondary education and how to manage student loan debt. This financial literacy course is designed to prepare participants to address financial challenges that come with adulthood and make sound financial decisions. A secondary purpose is to help participants identify and build a plan to achieve their personal education and career goals while achieving overall lasting financial stability.

Home Buyer Education Workshop

This 8-hour homebuyer workshop guides participants through the complex, confusing and sometimes overwhelming process of purchasing a home. We believe educated buyers are less likely to become victims of predatory lending, fair housing discrimination, or to become a foreclosure risk. Topics include: finding the right mortgage product; understanding the costs of ownership; and preparing for closing.

Transitioning to Financial Stability

Veterans Achieving Financial Success

This education series workshop is designed to provide Armed Forces members and veterans with knowledge, tools and guidance that will enable them to address financial issues adversely affecting their current credit rating. Participants will identify strategies to implement positive and consistent money management practices to help change their financial behavior and manage their credit standing over time.

Essentials for Buying Your First Home*

Available at www.clearpointu.org/firsthome, this 8-hour, online pre-purchase program is designed to prepare and position first time home buyers for lasting success as a homeowner. The six hour education component includes twenty-one courses, a pre-test, post-test and certificate of completion. The two hour counseling component allows participants to complete a comprehensive, online pre-purchase housing counseling session with a certified housing counselor.
