Enter Penny’s Frighteningly Frugal Halloween Contest

Our favorite pig, Penny Pincher, is hosting a Halloween Contest! It is actually three contests put into one awesome Facebook Event. So get out your broomstick and brace yourself for some hair-raising fun!
We’ve got something for everyone, whether you like to dress up, prefer to put the costume on your pet, or even just like carving pumpkins. For your chance to win check out the rules below:

Contest Rules

In order to participate, you must first like the Penny Pincher Facebook page (if you don’t do that, you won’t be able to officially enter). You will then have three contest categories to choose from, but you may only choose one to participate in. First place in each category will win $50, and the specific rules for each one are below:

1. DIY Costume Contest – Make your own cheap Halloween costume and post a picture of yourself wearing the costume to the Penny Pincher timeline. Then, send Penny Pincher a message with the subject “DIY Costume Contest” and list out the materials and cost of your costume. The total cost must be $10 or less.

2. Pumpkin Carving Contest – Carve a pumpkin with either a money or zombie theme (your choice). Post a picture of yourself with the pumpkin to the Penny Pincher timeline.

3. DIY Pet Costume Contest – Make a cheap Halloween Costume for your pet and post a picture of your pet wearing the costume to the Penny Pincher timeline. Then, send Penny Pincher a message with subject “DIY Pet Costume Contest” with a list of materials and cost. The total cost must be $10 or less.

How to Win

How will the winners be determined? That’s the best part! The winner will be decided by the photo in each category that receives the most likes and shares. So the earlier you enter, the better the chance you have to win!

We encourage creativity and frugality, so consider reusing materials, shopping consignments and repurposing things around your home. The deadline for entries is 11:59PM on October 31th. However, voting continues until 11:59PM on November 6th. Winners will be announced and notified on November 7th.
